The Great Raw Food Experiment
Sunday, 03 October 2010The 100 day raw food challenge we decided to try last year has turned more into a lifestyle change and over a year-long experiment in health and wellness. Looking back at my intent, when I decided to maintain a raw food diet, I was focused on feeling better. And, I did initially see some improvements in things like skin, hair, energy levels, etc. But, towards the end of the year, I noticed some less than positive changes in my health, such as sensitive teeth, lower energy and brain fog. Of course, I'm not sure I can really attribute this to diet. I face some other barriers to good health, too, like getting adequate rest, general stress, and not enough time frolicking in nature (love that word; frolicking!).
So, I continue to experiment with different raw foods and have recently found a good balance. But, I know I now need to revaluate my goals and expectations. I'm not exactly sure what this evaluation will reveal, but I'm open to learning more, and just following my intuition and trying to do this consciously and with intention.
